Add lemon juice and vinegar to your plant-based yogurt. Stir well.
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 18 oz plant-based yogurt
Line a large jar with the cheesecloth, leaving some fabric to hang out at the sides. Use an elastic band to secure the cloth to the jar.
Pour your quark mixture through the cloth into the jar. The liquid will gradually collect in the jar.
Cover it with a lid. If you don't have a lid just place a small plate on top.
Let stand at room temperate for 10-15 minutes.
Place in the fridge for 6-8 hours, but best overnight. The water will drip from the cloth into the jar, creating a thicker quark layer on top.
Notes
Use the step-by-step photos from the blog post above to see how each step should look. Tip 1 - Be patient. The longer you let it stand, the thicker the quark will become. Tip 2 - Choose your dairy-free yogurt wisely. The final taste will depend heavily on what kind of yogurt you used. Make sure you love that yogurt as is or you might not like the quark.Quark not thickening? Use a different cloth. Your cloth is probably too thick to let any water through. To store- Place in an airtight container (like a jar or pickle jar). Keep in the fridge and eat within 2-3 days.Serving ideas- add it to cakes, baked, chia puddings, granola, cheesecakes, or savory dishes like sandwiches.
