Pour 1 cup (235ml) of boiled / hot water into a mug. Add the tea bag. Let steep for approx. 5 minutes. Then set aside to cool.
1 teabag black tea
In the meantime, combine milk, lavender, vanilla & maple syrup in a small saucepan. Start on low heat and warm it up slowly until there is steam rising from the pan. Remove from heat. Stir well.
2 cups almond milk, 1.5 tablespoon lavender buds, 2 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ tablespoon maple syrup
Add the tea you prepared earlier to your lavender milk mixture.
Pour the mixture through a sieve into two mugs. This will make sure no lavender buds remain in the final drink.
Serve with a small lavender sprig OR frothed milk on top. Simply use a milk frother or blender to froth the milk and spoon some on top
Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired - it adds a lovely aroma! (optional)
cinnamon
Notes
Adjust it to taste - you might prefer to make it sweeter or make the lavender flavor more/less intense.
It's normal for the drink to separate just a little. Simply stir it again before drinking.
Because this is meant to be a soothing tea you can drink before bed I recommend opting for decaf black tea (or other decaf tea).
Serve it piping hot.
You can use a custom amount of lavender according to your taste. Don't go overboard though! Too much lavender can make it taste a little soapy.
