Avocado Lime Crema - Healthy, Vegan Dip

This tangy avocado lime crema is the perfect creamy dressing or dipping sauce with a velvety smooth texture made in under 5 minutes.

Equipment

  • Food processor or blender

Ingredients

  • 2 Hass avocados ripe
  • ¾ cup yogurt I used unsweetened soy yogurt
  • ½ large lime juice only
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 garlic clove
  • cup fresh cilantro/coriander tightly packed, stalks included
  • red chili flakes to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • First, slice the avocados in half (lengthwise). Discard the pits, and use a spoon to scoop the flesh straight into a food processor/blender.

  • Add the remaining ingredients to the food processor/blender.
    ¾ cup yogurt, ½ large lime, ½ teaspoon onion powder, 1 garlic clove, ⅓ cup fresh cilantro/coriander, red chili flakes, salt and pepper
  • Blend for 1-2 minutes until smooth. Taste and adjust, adding more salt/pepper/lime juice/chili if desired.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Tip 1 - You might need to blend for a minute or two more depending on your blender.
Tip 2 - Play around with seasonings such as paprika, cumin, oregano, and thyme if desired.
Tip 3 - Not a fan of cilantro? Replace it with other fresh herbs such as parsley or chives.
Want thinner consistency? Simply add a bit of lime juice, water, or oil at the end & blend again.
GREEN TIP - Don't throw away the cilantro stems. They're perfectly edible.
To serve - Use as a topping for burrito bowls, salads, tacos, taquitos, and quesadillas.  Or use it as a dip and serve with tortilla chips, veggies, crunchy bread, or crackers
To store - Transfer the crema to an airtight container. Refrigerate and use within 3-4 days.
