Ayurvedic Giner & Turmeric Tea

Ingredients

  • 1 thumb ginger
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
  • A pinch black pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 lemon
  • Optional: sweetener of choice, dried rose petals

Instructions

  • Slice 1 thumb of fresh ginger into small cubes and place in a pan.
  • Add turmeric powder and a pinch of black pepper.
  • Add 2 cups of water, bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and strain the ginger using a sieve to get rid of any large pieces.
  • Transfer into 2 cups.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon to each cup.
  • Sprinkle with Ceylon cinnamon and enjoy warm.
  • Optional: add sweetener of choice (such as agave syrup) and top off with dried rose petals.
