Equipment

  • Measuring cups or scales
  • Two mugs
  • Jar, milk frother or blender

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups oat milk
  • ½ cup strong coffee
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • sweetener of choice optional

Instructions

  • Make your coffee. I use instant coffee so I simply put the granules in the mug, add vanilla & pour boiled water over the coffee. Place a lid over it to keep it warm.
  • Warm your oat milk up (In a microwave or on a stove)
  • Use a jar, milk frother, or a blender to froth the oat milk.
  • Then pour the frothed oat milk on top of the coffee.
  • Last, sprinkle it with some cocoa, cinnamon, or pumpkin pie spice (optional).

Notes

  • Tip 1 - Use strong coffee - it needs to be practically black in colour and very strong. If not, your latte will taste too milky.
  • Tip 2 - Don’t froth it cold - after extensive testing by yours truly, I’ve noticed that oat milk froths much easier when it’s hot.
  • Tip 3 - Make it caffeine-free - if you can’t tolerate caffeine well, you can simply use decaf coffee. The results will be the same!
  • Tip 4 - Use syrups - if you’re a fan of speciality coffees, feel free to add a drizzle of your favourite syrup to the coffee (e.g. hazelnut, pumpkin spice, gingerbread, etc)
  • Tip 5 - Use barista oat milk - this is not necessary, but it's my top choice for the best, most foamy and rich results.
