  • 1 cup tea black or green
  • ½ cup quick-cooking tapioca pearls
  • 1 tablespoon sugar white sugar, granulated sugar, etc
  • 1 cup milk I used unsweetened oat milk
  • 4 Oreo cookies

  • 1 handful ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  • Add 1 tea bag or 2 teaspoon of loose leaf tea to 1 cup (235ml) of boiled water.
  • Steep for 5 minutes & let cool down completely.
  • In the meantime, crush Oreos either in a blender, ziplock bag, or on a chopping board. Set aside.
  • Add tapioca pearls to a pan full of boiling hot water.
  • Simmer for 5-6 minutes. Tip - Check the instructions on your boba packaging. Cooking times will vary per brand!
  • Reserve 3 tablespoon of boiling water. Then remove pearls from heat and strain.

  • To serve, add tapioca balls to a large glass. Then fill the glass with ice cubes (optional, but highly recommended).
  • Add (cooled down) tea. Mix crushed Oreos with milk & add the mixture to your serving glass.
  • Stir well & adjust to taste. You can add more sugar, milk, tea etc.
  • Add optional toppings like whipped cream, more crushed Oreos or chocolate sauce.

Notes

Important: Taste before serving - adjust the sweetness to your own personal taste. Everyone enjoys their boba differently!
  • COOKING THE PEARLS - I provide general instructions on how to cook boba. However, every brand varies! Follow the instructions on your own boba package.
  • SEPARATED - It's normal for this drink to separate a little. If it does, simply use a straw to stir it.
  • HOT OR COLD - You can serve this boba hot or iced cold. Don't serve it lukewarm.
CRUCIAL Tip! This recipe isn't overly sweet. If you prefer a sweeter drink, you can simply just add sugar either when making tea or at the end.
