- 1 large thumb ginger
- 2 bags black tea
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups almond milk or other
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Peel and cut ginger into small pieces. (Alternatively, you can grate it.)
Add ginger to a small saucepan & pour milk on top. Heat it up slowly until piping hot. Don't let it boil.
In the meantime add tea to boiling water. Let steep for 4 minutes before removing the tea bag/leaves.
Remove the ginger from your milk (by pouring it through a sieve).
Optional step - froth the milk using a milk frother or a blender.
Pour the milk on top of your tea and finish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
- For a stronger ginger flavor use more ginger or finely grate it
- Cut the ginger into small pieces - this way it will release more flavor into the milk.
- Creamier - add an extra dash of milk for a creamier drink.
- The tea: milk: water ratio is completely up to you!
- If you want a sweeter flavor but want to avoid sugar simply add some stevia to your tea.
- Use super creamy milk (like coconut milk) for a heavier, thicker version.
