This 5-ingredient Oreo frappe is a delicious twist on a classic recipe inspired by Starbucks & McDonald's beverages. Easy to customize, refreshing & so simple to make.
💌 Why You’ll Love It
- It has Oreos in it!
- It’s SO easy to make
- Super cheap
- Looks GORGEOUS
- Less ingredients than similar recipes
- You can customise it
If you’ve ever tried a frappe at Starbucks, McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, or Dairy Queen you’ll know that the price for these beverages can be quite high!
My DIY oreo frappuccino is exactly the opposite - super affordable, costing only a fraction of the price (but with ALL the flavour).
🥛 The Ingredients
Here are the 5 easy ingredients you’ll need to make this Oreo frappe.
If you’re anything like me, these will probably be in your kitchen already (secret stash of Oreos, anyone?)
Ingredient notes
Oreo cookies - you can technically use any other type of cookie, but I went for the original Oreos.
Vanilla extract - I used the affordable liquid vanilla extract. You could go fancy and swap it for vanilla bean paste or leave it out altogether.
Milk of choice - I went for oat milk, but you can easily sub it for your favorite type of milk.
Instant coffee - This helps bring out the chocolatey flavour, making it even tastier.
⏲️ Step-by-step

- Add all your ingredients to a blender.
- Ready? Set? Blend!
- Pour into a cup. Top off with whipped cream, chocolate sauce & more crushed Oreos.
- Serve immediately - don’t let it stand around.
Don’t worry if your frappe has a slight texture or has some tiny bits in it. This is completely normal! It happens because we’ve added so much ice which reacts with the cream filling in Oreos.
💡 Quick Tips
- I can’t stress this enough - make sure to customize it according to your own preferences.
- Add some extra sugar if desired.
- If you’ve left out vanilla, I would recommend adding some extra sugar.
- Add a scoop of ice cream for a more indulgent result.
- Add other types of cookies if you prefer.
- Use decaf coffee if preferred.
- Serve it immediately - letting it stand at room temperature will make it less appealing.
- Drink it through a straw - it’s much more enjoyable that way.

Add fewer ice cubes & milk, or add some ice cream. Make sure the ice cream is not melted but properly frozen. You could also add more cookies.
Yes, I used vegan Oreos and oat milk which makes it completely suitable for vegans. I also used dairy-free whipped cream.
🍫 Decorating
I decorated my homemade Oreo frappuccino with a generous amount of whipped cream.
I also added my own DIY chocolate sauce (it's SO good!).
To make the sauce yourself, simply break up a few pieces of chocolate and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave them for about 30 seconds at a time, careful not to let them burn (they melt quickly!)
Once the chocolate has melted, grab a spoon and drizzle the sauce all over the whipped cream.
This easy chocolate sauce will help other toppings stick better. I like to add more crushed Oreos and some extra chocolate shavings.
You can also decorate it with other toppings like sprinkles, caramel sauce, ice cream, or mini marshmallows.
